How To Pronounce: L

7 day pronunciation challenge! Improve your Ls in 7 days

Hi everyone.  Today we are going to practise pronouncing our Ls.  This will be particularly helpful for you, if you come from East or Southeast Asia, or if you just have trouble with your L sounds.

In the video we’ll start by practising the sound, then move on to some sentences.  I break down the sentences into smaller slower chunks and then gradually speed them up.  I also give tips on how to make the sentences sound more natural!

Here’s the challenge:  practise these exercises every day – at least 10 minutes per day – for 7 days.  Then let me know in the comments if you notice an improvement.  But don’t just do it for 7 days, keep going after that and see how much your speech is transformed!

These are the sentences, so you can keep practising:

  • My pen broke and leaked blue ink all over my lovely dress.
  • He told us jokes all night long and we never fell asleep.
  • This lively child is ruining my lovely roses.
  • All the children brought a bottle of lemon Lilt.
  • I love my lillies. They are the best flower!
  • She accidentally kicked the pile of books and they fell all over the floor.

Let me know how you go! Comments can be left under the video on YouTube.

Until next time…
